Nature.is receives a grant from the Nordic Culture Fund
Nature.is has received support from the Nordic Culture Fund to collaborate with the Reykjavik International film festival (RIFF) on focusing on environmental films and panel discussions on the festival this autumn.
“In order to sustain the dialogue regarding the rapid changes the World sees everywhere, Nature.is wants to collaborate with the Reykjavik International film festival to present a section of films, revolving around this urgent theme, and also organize various events like Q&A and panel talks with acknowledged specialists in the field where the subject can be duly discussed. In environmental issues, awareness is paramount. By presenting 4-8 films, feature films as well as documentaries that have the Earth-conscious theme in common, Nature.is wants to expand the dialogue regarding the state of the World, its nature and its habitants. Presenting this message via the cinematic silver screen is a new way for us to put our message forth, one that will be more or less a clean addition to our regular activities and thus carries a minimum overlap with our ongoing efforts, and thus maximum gains are to be made, we hope. As one of Iceland‘s most widely publicised and popular annual cultural event, Reykjavik International Film Festival is an ideal collaborator to help us put our ever-so-relevant message forth. The festival is prepared to present an environmentally conscious category of films within its screening programme and its representatives are prepared to participate in the project with us“
