Exhibition at the Nordic House in Reykjavík from 06.09. -14.09.2008.

The purpose of Green Maps around the World is to promote inclusive participation in sustainable community development, using mapmaking as a medium. Green Map System has been developed collaboratively since 1995, and is now active in 475 cities, villages and neighborhoods in 54 countries. Iceland is the first „country“ as a whole to develop a green map, now online on Nature.is in English and on Natturan.is in Icelandic.

The Green Map of Iceland is a joint international project of Nature.is the Green Map Systems project, and the University of Iceland.

Green Maps from various places in the World are displayed at a show in the Nordic House in Reykjavík where Nature.is also introduces the online Green Map of Iceland and the services to the green community.

The show opens on Saturday September 6th at 14:00 hours and Nature.is introduces the Green Map of Iceland in a lecture at 15:00 hours
