Considerable pollution is produced when a car is cold-started. However, if an engine heater is installed and operating, the engine and passenger area will already be warm when the car is started with all ice already melted from the windshield. An engine-heater saves around 30% of gasoline fuel besides enhancing security. The exhaust of toxins is five to ten times less and the engine lasts longer. Lubricating oil also lasts longer as well as the battery. It is a good idea to use a time-set engine heater with a remote control.
