Green Map Iceland is a joint international project of Nature.is the Green Map® System project, and the University of Iceland. Green Map Iceland and Green Map Reykjavík are based on the Green Map® universal icon system, and Nature's extensive research work (over a period of 5 years) and registration of various sources on Green Pages, a massive database of eco-friendly information on Icelandic business and tourism.

The map is published in Icelandic on Natturan.is, in English on Nature.is and in German on Natur.is, along with the enormous amount of information already displayed on the site. We also published a printed version of the Green Map of Reykjavík in 2010 and again last summer. This year we plan to release a Green Map-app. Registration is available to anyone whose operation has been certified by acknowledged authorities or fulfills other demands set by the Green Map® System, as we are commited to avoid practicing greenwashing of any kind.

The map’s purpose is to point out the many eco-friendly opportunities available throughout the country and to encourage people to support companies who act in a responsible way towards the environment.

To apply for registration on the Green Map please contact nature@nature.is. Basic registration is free of charge!
