Tea and most spices are the dried products of many different herbs. As with other living plants it is most important  that the cultivation of the herbs are as natural and clean as possible. The quality also depends on how the drying, storing and packaging of the herbs is accomplished.

Organic certification or eco-labellingis about the whole process from production to packaging, ensuring  that harmful chemicals have not been used and that quality and the environment are considered and protected during production according to the strictest standards.

Sometimes preservatives or even MSG are added to spices in order to improve  taste or shelf life. Therefore it is important to carefully read   the contents of the respective spices and teas.
