Nordic Tourism - Inspiration - Innovation - Destination

More knowledge-exchange, as well as new opportunities for innovation, growth and productivity in the Nordic tourism sector is essential for enhancing global competitiveness. In order to enhance destination competitiveness; maximizing the potential of landscape and environment, culture and economy, through public and private partnerships and service diversification is essential.

This conference devotes attention to concrete examples from the Nordic region on how remote destinations struggle to promote their region through close cooperation between local players as an attractive tourism destination. The arrangements gives a possibility to have an insight look at the success stories as well as challenges to be combated by the communities. The geographic location of the conference, Ísafjörður, is a perfect scene for such arrangement with its unique nature and culture.

Time and place:
28 April 2009, from 09:00 – 15:30 Edinborgarhúsið, Ísafjörður, Iceland. This is a full day program where after the seminar guests will be taken on a sightseeing tour of Ísafjörður and Bolungarvík where they will experience first hand the life and culture of the area both past and present. Following the sightseeing tour a networking dinner is scheduled at Hotel Ísafjörður.
